Issued between 1918 and 1957 as premium photos from Baseball Magazine these were photos that were distributed in mailing tubes or brown envelopes. A massive set numbering approximately 750 posters these 9 1/2 x 12" sepia photos were distributed free with a subscription to the magazine or by purchasing them directly from the publication (25 for two dollars!).This Wagner issued in 1941 was actually the second Wagner to be issued in this enormous set of premiums. While the front of the poster appears in exceptional shape a glance at the back makes it immediately apparent that Honus was used for his intended purpose as tape stains and paper remnants are the telltale signs of being mounted on walls and scrapbooks during the course of its life. Still it"s a tremendous piece from one of the game"s most fabled players an affordable artifact from a key Hall of Famer.
