Spectacular oversized (28" x 40") 1949 movie poster advertising the Joe Louis film "The Fight Never Ends." Extremely attractive featuring an enormous illustration of the Brown Bomber is relatively rare and quite desirable. This example has undergone some stabilization work as it is mounted to a linen backing to help preserve the paper. Though we do not detect additional signs of restoration work it is certainly possible as the poster does exhibit creasing and wrinkling consistent with having been folded for quite some time. Several spots of paper loss are evident along the edges and on the creases themselves. The linen mounting has certainly prevented further destablization of the paper particularly around the creased areas. A wonderful and highly desirable poster.
