Issued in Cuba in 1946 and 47 with packages of Propagandas Montiel caramel these cards are printed on extremely lightweight paper and are thus extraordinarily condition-sensitive.  Since they were intended to be glued in an album the cards often have been removed from albums and thus often paper loss on the reverse. While technically in “poor” condition due to what appears to be glue staining on the card’s reverse this sample from the set features popular player and Hall of Famer Martin Dihigo and presents very well for this condition-sensitive set. This particular card does exhibit some general wear to its surface and corners but overall retains an excellent visual eye appeal making it a very pleasing sample from the set and of one of the best and most popular Cuban players of the era.
