Gorgeous tintype featuring a young boy with a large bat and ball incased in a cream-colored mount. Dating this piece is difficult due to the lack of a uniform however the overall style and coloring suggests circa 1880s. This is a superb example of the beauty of early baseball photography. Not uncommon for these types of photos the young boy’s cheeks have been hand tinted to give them a rosey color.
