Attractive collection of 8 magazines from the 1950s and 1960s signed by their cover subjects. These magazines are part of a collection that was accumulated over a period of years by a dedicated sports fan who attended many spring training games vintage magazines in hand obtaining signatures from their subjects. Highlighted by the July 1968 issue of Dell Sports signed exquisitely by Twins slugger Harmon Killebrew (HOF) this collection is an outstanding group of display-worthy publications and beautiful signatures. The Dell Sports issue is worn with fraying and tearing at the outer edge of the cover page as well as considerable wear and separation at the spine. Still the display quality is fantastic Killebrew"s beautiful penmanship adorning the bat he holds in the photo.Also included are the following: 2) May 1955 issue of Sport with Bobby Thomson on the cover signed by Thomson exhibiting considerable surface and edge wear. The spine has torn away and was repaired at some point with Scotch tape; 3) August 1956 issue of Sport with Wilmer "Vinegar Bend" Mizell signed "Vinegar Bend Mizell". Considerable wear several pronounced tears along the top and right edge and the back cover is tearing away from the fraying spine; 4) March 1958 issue of Sport with Lew Burdette on the cover signed in sharpie by Del Crandall; 5) September 1960 issue of Dell Sports" Who"s Who in the Big Leagues signed by Rocky Colavito (can he clout 60 in "60?) with minor edge and spine wear; 6) April 1961 issue of Sport signed in pen by Frank "Hondo" Howard considerable wear along the right edge and the spine repaired by aging Scotch tape that is now peeling away from the paper; 7) October 1961 issue of Sport with Wally Moon on the cover signed by Moon with excellent display quality and minimal wear 3) August 1962 issue of Sport magazine also signed by Colavito (who did not hit 60 in "60) minimal wear but evidence of a subscription sticker removal signed in ball point.Each generation of ballplayers has its heroes but it is often these regular everyday issues of publications that do not commemorate any momentous achievements that one can get a more true feel for the game during the era of the publication"s issue.
