The photo was taken on Sunday May 13 1928 when the Cubs defeated the New York Giants in front of 48 000 fans at Wrigley the Cubs' 17th victory of the season. The photo itself is tremendous displaying very little wear (though the frame of course prevents us from examining the edges and reverse).
