Difficult card type produced in 1909 by the Jay S. Meyer company of Philadelphia known for nearly 100 years as simply the "W555 strip card set " with only theoretical guesses as to which sort of product these postage stamp-sized hand-cut cards were packaged with. Most felt that the cards were cut from boxes of candy their sepia images superimposed with a player and team name. Recent discoveries of complete uncut boxes have revealed the Jay S. Meyer confectionery association. The cards four of which were printed on each of the small boxes could be cut off their box however the box itself folded into what resembled a small "pinhole camera" or toy camera. Perhaps the box was meant to be a toy camera which took the attached "pictures." Perhaps it was meant to be a viewer of some sort. The complete answer may be forever lost to history.
