Extraordinary 9 7/8" x 7 3/8" cabinet photo featuring the 1886 Rochester Maroons of the International League. The high-quality photo is in outstanding condition with the bulk of the age-related wear occurring on the mount itself. The photo is in apparent EX/MT condition the mount closer to FAIR. The display however is lovely. The players depicted are identified in the printing on the mount and include many names heard frequently when discussing 19th Century baseball. Included are the following: Front Row L-R: Edward Warner Joe Gunson Jersey Bakley Walter Hackett; Middle Row L-R: Gid Gardner Charlie Parsons George Harter Doc Kennedy Ed McKean; Back Row L-R: Joe Visner Charles Whitney Bob Barr Norm Baker and Lon Night. Three ring-style bats are clearly visible in the foreground and the suited Jersey Bakley holds a spectacular bowler hat. Simply a wonderful picture featuring a number of well-known players some of whom have precious few pictures known.
