Exceptional schedule dating to an 1885 game between the American Association's Baltimore Orioles and Philadelphia Athletics. Based on the scoring written on the scorecard it appears that the game was played on Monday July 27 at Oriole Park the final score resulting in a 6-0 Baltimore victory. Behind the pitching of Bobby Mathews (who won 30 games) the Ahtletics finished in 4th place in the American Association. The Orioles were unfortunately the last-place finisher pitcher Hardie Henderson posting a gaudy 25-35 record in 539 innings pitched. The scorecard itself is in good condition with some age-related soiling and toning evident throughout. Corner and edge wear are also evident as is wear at the spine however the entire piece is intact and reasonably sturdy. An excellent piece dating to baseball's earliest days one of the oldest scorecards we have handled.
