Under Hall of Fame Manager Joe McCarthy the 1936 Yankees won 102 games beginning a dynasty that would result in four consecutive World Championships. With eight of nine position players reaching double figures in home runs and five reaching 100 RBI the team was an offensive powerhouse. Led by first baseman Lou Gehrig"s 49 home runs and 152 RBI and rookie outfielder Joe DiMaggio"s .323 batting average and 125 RBI there was very little that the team couldn"t do finishing 19.5 games ahead of second-place Detroit and besting the New York Giants in a six game World Series 4-2.Presented here is an attractive team photograph as printed in a newspaper featuring the signatures of 13 members of that incredible team. The photo which has been cut from the paper and hole punched to fit in a binder includes signatures of George Selkirk Joe DiMaggio (HOF) Bob Seeds Lefty Gomez (HOF) Red Ruffing (HOF) Bill Dickey (HOF) Frank Crosetti John Schulte Joe McCarthy (HOF) and Earle Combs along with Spud Chandler Tommy Henrich and Ernie "Tiny" Bonham neither of which played with the 1936 Yankees but all of which would break in with the team in subsequent seasons. An outstanding document of Yankee greatness featuring five Hall of Famers and a number of other stars.*Please note that this item is guaranteed by Love of the Game to pass authentication from one of the hobby"s three major autograph authenticators: James Spence Authentication PSA/DNA or SGC Authentic.
