I have one to sell!
One of the more highly coveted cards in the N172 Old Judge issue depicting Pittsburgh third baseman Art Whitney kneeling with a dog. Whitney had a reputation for jumping from team to team; he spent time with eight teams during his 11-year career. The photo of Whitney is a statement on loyalty with the most loyal animal - the dog - pictured with the least loyal - Whitney. The joke of course has been largely lost to history with Whitney's reputation largely forgotten. Indeed this same pose can be found of Whitney listed with New York where he moved after the 1887 season. The card itself is a fine example with square corners and a clean image along with very light border wear. Some mild staining on the reverse along with some erased writing accounts for the grade. Regardless of the technical grade the card appears far stronger one of the finer FAIR N172s you are likely to see.
