An extremely bright complete 1967 Topps set rendered only slightly less impressive than the 1966 set from the Texas find because of our handling of an extraordinary high-grade 1967 set some years ago with each card grading PSA 8 or better which sold for $30 000 in our auction. This example does not quite reach that level as it was a naturally-assembled set in the date of issue and does include cards with some slight corner wear and certainly those with centering issues. Still this is a spectacular original-owner set each card crisp and colorful as the day it was issued. We selected 12 cards for submission to PSA. Grades are as follows: #93 Murcer (PSA NM-MT 8) #103 Checklist (Mantle - PSA NM-MT 8) #131 Yankees Team (PSA EX-MT 6) #150 Mantle (PSA EX 5 largely due to centering) #215 Banks (PSA NM-MT 8) #250 Aaron (PSA EX-MT 6) #285 Brock (PSA NM-MT 8) #361 Checklist (Clemente - PSA NM 7) #400 Clemente (PSA EX-MT 6) #480 McCovey (PSA EX-MT 6) #569 Carew (PSA EX 5) #581 Seaver (PSA VG 3). The Seaver received its grade due to a crease on the reverse that we did not notice on submission it presents on the front in the form of a light fold. Still quite an attractive card. The remainder of the set largely grades in the EX-MT range perhaps half the cards though some certainly grade as high as NM-MT. A wonderful set 609 cards total.
