Attractive pair of aerial photos depicting Yankee Stadium. The first an Underwood & Underwood photo depicts Yankee Stadium during the World Series. Described in the slug as the greatest baseball crowd in history the slug also reveals the score of the game (Yankees 4 Cardinals 1) making the photo from Game 1 of the 1928 World Series. The slug suggests attendance to be 83 000 but today's records peg the attendance at 61 425. The second photo an aerial photo of an empty Stadium describes the park as the "newest costliest largest ball park in the world " suggesting the photo was taken prior to the 1923 Series against the Giants. The Underwood photo appears in VG/EX condition with a small corner clip at the lower left and some mild waviness due to age. The second photo is in GOOD condition with a larger corner clip at the bottom right along with some minor creasing and an edge tear. Still two excellent photos of a young Yankee Stadium during the Babe Ruth era.
