Yankees legends Lou Gehrig and Bill Dickey stand with a baby-faced Joe DiMaggio in this original large format Type 1 photo. The Hall of Famers are posed at Fenway Park during what must be 1936 or 1937 as New York teams wore World's Fair patches on their left sleeve in 1938 and teams across the majors wore Baseball Centennial patches on their left sleeves in 1939. DiMaggio, set the Yankees rookie record for home runs in 1936 with 29 and led all major league hitters with 46 home runs in 1937. DiMaggio's Yankees would capture four-straight World Series titles from 1936-39, while seizing five more championships with "Joltin' Joe" on the roster in 1947, 1949, 1950, and 1951. Tremendous 8" x 10" photo displays exceptionally well, with wonderfully balanced contrast and bright-white borders. A pencil notation of "6/36" appears towards the top-left corner of verso which shows evidence of light toning to the left edge. Authenticated and encapsulated as a Type 1 photo by PSA/DNA.
