Lot Description  

Original news service photo depicting 1919 World Series Game 3 starters Dickie Kerr of the White Sox and Ray Fisher of the Reds at Comiskey Park. It was in this pivotal game that Kerr, who was not implicated in the Black Sox scandal, famously tossed a dominant 3-hit complete-game shutout to keep the series close following two losing efforts from the White Sox in games 1 and 2. Tremendous photo measures approx. 7.5" x 9.5" with an unevenly trimmed top edge. Modern paper has been placed over verso with original paper caption attached detailing events depicted. Full LOA from PSA/DNA.
