There are three different Frank Chance cards included in the T206 set. This version, which features a portrait of the Hall of Famer in front of a yellow background, is the most common of the three, but the Piedmont Factory 42 back advertisement is extremely tough. There is heavy staining on both the front and the back of this offering, but the card's "Authentic Altered" grade comes from the fact that there is evidence of trimming along the top border. Nevertheless, PSA has only ever graded 12 total examples of this Piedmont 350-460/42 back version of the Chance.

While many people know Frank Leroy Chance as the First Baseman in the Cubs' historic "Tinker to Evers to Chance" double play combination, few realize that Chance was actually a terrific base stealer. He stole 25 or more bases every season from 1901 through 1909, leading the Majors twice (67 in 1903, and 57 in  1906). His 403 career steals are 73rd all time.
