The Philadelphia favorite is pictured kneeling first from the right along with his North Riverdale Little League team out of Dayton, Ohio. Schmidt was inducted into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1995 after his 18-season career concluded in 1989. He spent the entirety of his major league tenure with Philadelphia, blasting 548 home runs while collecting three MVP awards and 10 Gold Gloves. Prior to his Hall of Fame Induction Schmidt was enshrined into the Little League's Hall of Excellence in 1991, an honor bestowed upon Little League graduates who "...have demonstrated a commitment to excellence in their chosen profession and exemplify the values learned as children in Little League."
