Another entry in the portraits in front of a red background subset of the T206 set, this example depicts pitcher Dick Rudolph in his white Toronto uniform with the collar up. While there are some surface stains on each side, the card is actually in very good shape with crisp edges and nice centering. There is a small bit of paper loss on Rudolph's swooped hair, and while the corners are softer than the edges, they still present nicely on this tough Polar Bear back. SGC has only ever graded 24 total examples of this Polar Bear back version of the Rudolph, with only TWO receiving a higher grade than the VG-EX 4 offered here.

Richard "Dick" Rudolph won 20+ games in both 1914 and 1915, the first of which ended with his Boston Braves as World Series champions. "Baldy" went 2-0 in the 1914 World Series against the Philadelphia Athletics, throwing two complete games and striking out 15 while only surrendering 1 earned run in 18 innings of work. Before becoming a mainstay at the Major League level, Rudolph pitched for Toronto of the Eastern League, winning 18 or more games for the Maple Leafs every year from 1908 to 1912.
