Some surface abrasions have led to a bit of color loss on the front of this tough Elberfeld, Washington portrait, particularly in the bold, red background. Crisp edges and fairly sharp corners for the grade are present, but so are some tobacco stains on the card's lower half and around the borders. The MC qualifier comes from the centering being too far south on the canvas, leaving an exaggerated northern border and cutting off a small portion of the bottom of the text under the image. While "ELBERFELD, WASHINGTON" is still legible, the miscut is worth mentioning. The Piedmont back presents beautifully.
