There are four different John McGraw cards included in the T206 set (the only person with more is Hal Chase, with five). This version, which depicts McGraw sitting, reclined, in his New York Giants sweater, wearing a cap in front of a red background, is the rarest of his four. While the colors remain bold, and McGraw's image is easily identifiable, the main issue with this card which explains the grade is the significant paper loss on the back, presumably from being removed from a scrapbook.
The top and bottom borders were each slightly miscut, with the text under the photo just sneaking onto the card, and the bottom portion of the text from the card above also making its way onto the card. A large crease running horizontally across the card at McGraw's chest level is also worth mentioning, but this is still a great, rare card of a Hall of Famer worth owning. PSA has
only ever graded 20 total examples of this Old Mill back version of the
McGraw.
