Starting with dark red on the left, and fading into cherry right on the right, the gradient background is the star of this entry in the T206 set. Foster's white uniform remains mostly clean, with his black hair, collar, and chest logo remaining dark and bold all these years later. Rounded corners and some chipping at the top edge explain the card's technical grade. Appropriate tobacco stains lightly adorn the left and bottom edge of the card's front, which is nicely centered and has an otherwise clean border. The back shows more signs of tobacco stains, but doesn't overpower the text or the Old Mill Southern League logo.

It is interesting that Foster is depicted as a member of the Charleston Sea Gulls of the South Atlantic League on this card. While Foster played for the team in 1906 and 1907, and then again in 1913 and 1914, the T206 set was produced between 1909 and 1911, during which time Foster played primarily for the New Haven Prairie Hens/Murlins of the Connecticut State League. A short stint in 1908 with the Cleveland Naps saw Foster collect two saves, pitching a complete game win in his only career start. He would never pitch in the Majors again.
