The St. Louis Browns defeated the Louisville Colonels on July 27, 1896, as documented in this official New Sportsman's Park scorecard.  Hall of Famer Roger Connor played first base and scored a run for St. Louis in the game.  The last place Colonels did feature future Hall of Famer Fred Clarke in the outfield, but were still a season removed from the arrival of superstar infielder Honus Wagner.  The well-worn scorebook has become quite brittle and flaky with time, with significant edge wear apparent.  The spine has completely separated, resulting in all the pages being separated as well, though all are present.  Some writing is also apparent on the cover.  A very rare scorebook, documenting a 19th Century game featuring two eventual Hall of Famers.
