Author of a brief, four-year baseball career, catcher/outfielder Jake Kenyon was photographed as a member of the St. Louis Whites, where he played in 1888.  With five different poses in the N172 set, Kenyon is identified either with St. Louis or the Des Moines Prohibitionists, though he is pictured in his Whites uniform in all five.  Photographed by the Scholten Studio of St. Louis, this image would become pose #260-2 in the N172 issue, this example in POOR condition with significant staining on the image as well as the mount.  St. Louis Whites subjects are quite desirable among N172 collectors, and examples of this cabinet are very rare.
