1888 Scholten studio cabinet of pitcher Nat Hudson, the image of which would become card #239-4 in the massive Old Judge project. The Scholten Studios of St. Louis took the photos for the Browns. Hudson, who pitched in the city until 1889, was a star for the club in 1888, going 25-10 with a 2.54 ERA in 333 innings. His numbers tailed off considerably in 1889, however, as arm troubles and a suspension for insubordination reduced his playing time. He was later traded to Louisville, and he refused to report, at which point he was released. After a few seasons with the Minneapolis Millers, his career ended. The cabinet, despite a clear image, is in POOR condition, with surface soiling, a couple of pinholes, some edge wear and Hudson's name written on the mount in ink.
