Higher-grade Old Judge card of Irish-American prizefighter Mike Cleary. Known as a hard hitter, Clearly defeated John Rooke, the Middleweight Champion of America, in three rounds in an 1882 bout. Cleary died of tuberculosis at just 35 years old. The card is strong, with above-average image contrast, some light soiling at the top edge, and a clean reverse.
