Unique collection of four original photos from both Paul Thompson's news photo service and Charles Martin Conlon himself. Each example in this collection features a member of the 1916 New York Giants and includes either Paul Thompson's credit stamping or Conlon's personal credit stamping, handwritten notations, or both on verso. Poses in this group feature the unmistakeable checkered uniforms only worn by the Giants for that 1916 season alone, when they at times even featured pillbox caps as seen in Dave Robertson's example. Varying degrees of wear associated with working news service photos can be found across the group, including: editorial masking, chipped corners, smudging, tears, and surface wrinkles.
