Beautiful Wilson Detroit Tigers promotional baseball signed by 26 members of the AL East champion Detroit Tigers. The 1972 Tigers lost to one of the great teams in baseball history the Oakland A's who in 1971 began their ascent to immortality and in 1972 defeated the Tigers by just one game in the League Championship Series. Signatures on the baseball include: Billy Martin (SS); Aurelio Rodriguez (SS) Tony Taylor Dick McAuliffe Bill Slayback Ed Brinkman Frank Howard Tom Timmerman John Hiller Duke Sims Ike Brown Gates Brown Jim Northrup Mickey Lolich Joe Coleman Chris Zachary Lerrin LaGrow Norm Cash Tom Haller Al Kaline (HOF) Joe Niekro (likely clubhouse) Willie Horton Fred Scherman Bill Freehan Woodie Fryman and Mickey Stanley. The majority of the signatures are bold and crisp though a few (including Kaline) are somewhat faded but still very legible. Please note that this item does not carry professional third-party authentication on the autograph however it is guaranteed to have been obtained directly by Dennis Clotworthy during his time with the team. Like all other autographed items we sell if the item has not been professionally authenticated we guarantee it will pass authentication with James Spence Authentication or PSA/DNA if submitted within 60 days of the auction close. In the case of team-signed baseballs there may be the occasional clubhouse signature but we guarantee the authenticity of all Hall of Famers and keys players. Should the item not pass we will refund your purchase price in its entirety. Please refer to our auction rules and bid with confidence. 26 signatures total.
