While similar in size (but square) and utilizing the same images as the E254 Colgans Chips the cards commonly known as "Square Proofs" are likely not proofs. In fact they are likely an issue unto themselves perhaps somehow related to the round Colgan's Chips issue. Some speculate that they may have been a part of an advertising promotion since many are found with glue residue on the back. They are needless to say particularly rare with not all cards in the checklist as having been identified as being in existence. This example featuring Hall of Fame manager Fred Clarke has been graded VG 40 by SGC due primarily to corner wear and general age-related soiling along with minor corner creasing.
