Immersion into Deadball Era baseball will give even the casual fan a strong appreciation for the game's non-Hall of Fame stars and regional favorites; photography of such players from that era quickly becomes something to treasure. Such is the case with this grouping of M101-2 Sporting News premiums mostly in collector grades depicting 21 of the era's most popular players plus the special supplement featuring the 1912 New York Giants team. Each in lower technical grades each of the supplements displays extremely well with varying degrees of edge and corner wear wrinkling and some holes or tears repaired with clear tape on the reverse. Particularly offensive condition issues described in the list below otherwise assume a low technical grade with moderately higher eye appeal: 1) July 11 1909 - Jake Stahl; 2) August 8 1909 - Bill Carrigan (clear tape on reverse); 3) August 26 1090 - Sherry McGee (adhered to scrapbook paper significant repair work done on the reverse in clear tape assume trimming on all four sides); 4) September 16 1909 - Nap Rucker (Poor condition significant paper loss); 5) November 4 1909 - Jimmy McAleer (tape repairing a tear on the reverse); 6) December 23 1909 - Tommy Leach (clear tape repairing small edge tears bottom-left corner clip); 7) January 13 1910 - Harry Krause; 8) February 17 1910 - Fred Merkle; 9) September 29 1910 - Bill Carrigan; 10) October 27 1910 - John Taylor (clear tape repairing tears on the reverse); 11) November 3 1910 - Russell Ford (#32 written on reverse); 12) November 17 1910 - Harry Lord (heavy folds into quarters); 13) December 15 1910 - Arthur Hoffman (heavy creasing repaired by clear tape owner stamp on reverse); 14) January 26 1911 - Robert Byrnes (heavy folds into quarters); 15) February 16 1911 - Bob Bescher; 16) March 2 1911 - Wildfire Schulte (#47 written on reverse); 17) December 7 1911 - Fred Snodgrass; 18) December 14 1911 - James Callahan; 19) January 11 1912 - Ping Bodie (heavy folds into quarters); 20) October 17 1912 - New York Giants (clear tape repairs on reverse); 21) December 4 1913 - Charles Somers; December 11 1913 - Joseph Birmingham. An attractive grouping of supplements ultimately representing nearly a quarter of the set. 22 supplements total.
