Attractive grouping of three supplements or premiums each measuring approximately 5 1/2" x 8 1/2" picturing Ty Cobb Smoky Joe Wood and Rube Marquard. The origin of these pieces is unknown. At first glance they appear not to be premiums but to be pages taken from a book. However the stock is glossy on the front matte on the reverse and an examination under 40x magnification does not suggest that there are two sheets of paper adhered together - in other words it does not appear that anything has been printed on the backs of each of these. The premiums (for lack of a better term) have been stored in a scrapbook; each of the three items have scrapbook remnants adhered to the reverse. The remnants would render each in POOR condition as a technical grade; overall wear creasing and soiling to the fronts are consistent with cards of a slightly higher grade with the exception of the Wood which exhibits a small hole in the bottom-left corner. All three have strong clear images and display quite nicely. The Cobb image in particular is striking. Three premiums or supplements of unknown origin. Singe the origin is unknown it is entirely possible that these were taken from a publication or book of some kind however we have been unable to identify anything of the sort.
