Measuring about 1 1/2" by 2 3/8" the W516-1 set is a 30-card set of strip cards that could be purchased in full strips and cut from strips at local stores. As is the case with many other strip card issues the method of separating the cards from the strips which often simply meant ripping them into pieces somewhere near their dotted-line borders these cards contain a large number of miscuts each of which are graded "Authentic" by grading companies today. To provide an idea of 354 W516-1 cards graded by SGC to date 218 have been graded "Authentic " or approximately 62%. An even higher percentage of W516-1s graded this way with PSA; 288 of 367 cards graded or 78%.Presented here is a low-grade version of the set"s key card of Babe Ruth. Classified as "pitcher " Ruth had just been sold to the Yankees and his future as the greatest home run hitter the game has ever seen was still ahead of him. The card is in extremely low grade but still grades "Authentic" due to the irregular borders. Still an outstanding example of a Babe Ruth card printed when his legend was still ahead of him.Population DataSGC Population: 48 total graded 29 at this level 19 higherPSA Population: 45 total graded 37 at this level 8 higher
