With a devastating left hook and a unique fighting style James Jeffries won the Heavyweight Championship in 1899 retiring without a loss in 1905 before coming back in 1910 for the "Fight of the Century" against then-Champion Jack Johnson. Even today the match is considered one of the most famous ever with Johnson defeating Jeffries by TKO in a bout that was set up by the media as a sort of race war with Jeffries cast as the "Great White Hope."Graded EX/NM 80 by SGC the card is in outstanding condition with minor wear about the edges but square corners and a crisp glossy surface. Pictured in his trademark crouch with his left hand extended Jeffries" T9 cabinet is one of the keys to the set and one of the more important mainstream boxing cards. An outstanding opportunity to own a specimen in the highest grade available.Population DataSGC Population: 7 total graded 1 at this level 0 higherPSA Population: 40 total graded 5 at this level 0 higher
