One of a large collection of beautiful T3 Turkey Reds that we will feature in our winter and spring auctions this is a stunning cabinet of Athletics third baseman Frank "Home Run" Baker. Baker known nicknamed thusly due to a four-year stretch during which he led the American League in home runs (1911-14) sat out the entire 1915 season during a contract dispute with Connie Mack. His contract was sold to the New York Yankees where baker played four seasons before retiring at the end of the 1919 season. He returned for 1921 and 22 however which enabled "Home Run" baker to share a roster with the greatest home run hitter of them all Babe Ruth. This card graded VG/EX 4 by PSA exhibits vivid color with minor surface wear and very faintly rounded corners. The Turkey Red ad back version of this card is fairly plentiful by T3 standards though we will submit that it is unlikely that a nicer example exists in this grade. A strong colorful example of a key card from one of the most popular players of 1911.Population DataPSA Population: 43 total graded 12 at this level 14 higherSGC Population: 11 total graded 3 at this level 3 higher
