"Circus" Solly Hofman is often considered the first great utility player in baseball. He played seven positions during the course of his 14 year career (all but pitcher and catcher) spending the majority of his time with the Chicago Cubs as he is pictured on his Turkey Red cabinet card. The card a second series card with the Turkey Red back variety is a beautiful midgrade example from a set where midgrade examples are scarce - fully 31% of the graded T3s in existence have been assessed a value of GOOD or lesser. This example graded VG/EX by PSA is one of just 15 examples they have graded with the Turkey Red back with just 7 grading higher. The card features a strong image edges and corners but a few minor surface blemishes have reduced the grade. This is however one of those cards where a collector cannot help but think that submitting on a different day may just yield a different result.
