One of the undisputed keys of the hobby's cornerstone postwar issue the 1952 Topps Eddie Mathews is the first card of the Hall of Fame third baseman and also is one of the issue's more difficult second series cards. Mathews cards from this issue invariable carry a large premium on the few occasions where they're made publicly available though typically this card is found at auction with much less frequency than other stars from the set. Graded EX-MT 6 by PSA this example is attractive and clean with its primary issue related to the difficult centering both T-B and L-R. Regardless of the centering the image quality and clarity is extremely strong with deep rich color very accurately graded at the EX-MT level.
