August 28 1986 issue of Yankees Magazine featuring manager Billy Martin on the cover commemorating "Billy Martin Day " held in early August of that year. Martin had a tumultuous relationship with the Yankees to say the least managing 8 seasons in five different stings but winning 556 games for a .591 winning percentage including two pennants and one World Series Championship. Martin signed this issue in blue ink across his chest having the effect of drawing the eye to the intensity of Martin's expression. The magazine appears to be in EX condition but actually exhibits some wear particularly along the spine a portion of which has been torn and repaired using clear tape. Of course Martin would be gone just three short years later dying at age 61 in a motor vehicle accident caused by drunk driving.
