Spectacular grouping of full-color engravings each measuring approximately 7 1/2" x 9 1/2" matted to a larger size of 12" x 14" and covered in plastic. Each hand-colored engraving features a large bust of the general in question in uniform framed by a colorful ornate border. Each of the images appears to be in excellent or better condition though we are unable to inspect the edges or reverses due to the mattes. Included are the following generals: 1) Don Carlos Buell; 2) Joseph Hooker; 3) Nathaniel Lyon (first Union general killed in the Civil War); 4) John Pope; 5) David Dixon Porter; and 6) William S. Rosencrans. Five of the six engravings are labeled as having been adapted from ambrotypes by famed Civil War photographer Mathew Brady. Six beautiful engravings in total.
