Framed to a finished size of approximately 27" x 19" this wall display features the signatures of three pitchers who have gone down in history as serving up three of Babe Ruth's most important career home runs. The first is of Yankees pitcher Jack Warhop who surrendered Ruth's first career home run on May 5 1915 at the Polo Grounds. The second is of Indians pitcher Willis Hudlin who threw the ball Ruth depisited over the fence for his 500th Home Run on August 11 1929 at Cleveland's League Park. The last of Pirates pitcher Guy Bush the pitcher responsible for Ruth's 714th and final career home run at Forbes Field on May 25 1935. That home run the third he would hit that day was a monster shot that cleared the Forbes Field roof - the longest home run ever hit in that park. The three signatures all appear on 3" x 5" cards each bold strong and legible. The Warhop signature particularly difficult to find is on lined blue paper. Each of the signatures have been matted along with three 8x10" photos of Ruth at various stages in his career making for a very attractive display. A lovely display memorializing the forgotten element of Babe Ruth's legendary career: his torment of opposing pitchers.
