The VG 40 grade of this Altoona Tribune card of Clark Griffith is a deceptive one. While this particular card does exhibit some pronounced chipping along the right edge most cards with the Altoona Tribune back grade lower than expected due to two pressure lines that traverse the card - one horizontally one vertically. Such is the case with the Griffith card which appears to be a much higher grade than assigned by SGC. One of the more scarce of the Mendelsohn backs the Altoona Tribune reverse combined with a Hall of Famer make this an extremely desirable card regardless of technical grade.
