Extremely attractive small group of 19th Century postage stamp cards as issued by W. Duke & Sons. Each of these fascinating cards depicts a different mail-related scene from around the world and inset into each lithograph is an actual cancelled postage stamp from a different country. The Duke advertising on the reverse is interesting appealing to the collector in all of us and shedding some insight into how financially-driven collectors could be even as early as 1889: "A genuine foreign postage stamp from a collection of over a thousand varieties ranging in value from one cent to two dollars & fifty cents each. Not only the beginner but the owner of a large collection will find amongst our stamps such as he could never find before."An interesting group graded by SGC as follows: Chinese Letter (SGC VG+ 45) Ship of the Desert (SGC VG+ 45) Last Round (SGC VG 40) and NY Post Office (SGC GOOD 30). From the Rudy Strejc Collection.
