I have one to sell!
Attractive grouping of 15 cards from the 1892 N75 Duke"s Cigarettes Floral Beauties set. Each of the set"s 50 cards feature an extremely colorful lithograph of a young woman surrounded by a different patch of flowers with the flowers being the primary "purpose" of the set but the woman being the primary "eye candy." Likely one of the first examples of "I only read it for the articles" in history this is an unusual and highly attractive set. Further the condition is stronger than with many other elements of the Rudy Strejc Collection the majority of these cards presenting in a solid VG/EX condition. The technical grade of the cards however are slightly lesser - as with some other cards of this era these appear to have a gloss surface that is susceptible to cracking and wrinkling in the color areas much like a T207 in baseball cards. The result is a series of light surface cracks or wrinkles in the areas heavily saturated with color.Included are the following: Azalea (VG/EX) Begonia (G VG/EX appearance but some slight staining and paper pulls on the reverse) Carnation (VG) Canterbury Bells (F heavy crease across front) China Aster (G; VG/EX appearance save for surface wrinkles) Forget-Me-Not (VG/EX) Hollyhock (VG; stronger appearance save for surface wrinkles) Honeysuckle (G/VG) Lilacs (VG) Nasturtium (G) Pansy (F/G) Poppy (VG/EX) Sunflower (VG/EX) Tulip (G/VG) and Wild English Daisy (G). A colorful group of 19th Century non-sports cards from the Rudy Strejc Collection.
