Measuring approximately 8" x 9" this menu from the Sun Deck of the Shoreham Hotel (Likely in Ocean City MD) has been in the possession of the same person since it was obtained in the mid-1950s while he was a boy on vacation. Oddly enough the owner of the menu visited Love of the Game at a recent memorabilia show and consigned the piece there first telling the story of how several members of the Dodgers were staying at the hotel while the young boy's family vacationed. Bringing the poolside menu (cheeseburger: ninety cents!) to Gil Hodges the notorious nice guy signed and inscribed it directly on the cover. The young boy who never really became a sports fan hung onto the menu for his entire life until consigning it to Love of the Game several months ago. In VG condition the menus exhibits characteristics one would expect from a poolside menu: waviness of the heavy card stock a few stains and overall wear to the corners and edges. Hodges' signature is in outstanding condition bold and flowing (with a little ink skipping in the second half of the inscription). Protected by Love of the Game's authenticity guarantee - bid with extreme confidence.
