One of the more popular of the 1950s Topps baseball issues the 1957 set marked the company's switch to what is known today as the "standard" trading card size. Featuring full-color photography and extensive statistical information on the reverse the 1957 issue set the standard for baseball card production incorporating most of the features that we see in cards even today. The set contains the rookie cards of Don Drysdale Frank Robinson Brooks Robinson and Jim Bunning and with popular cards of eventual Hall of Famers like Mickey Mantle Sandy Koufax Willie Mays and Hank Aaron it is no wonder that the set remains so popular today. Presented here is a very attractive collector to midgrade set with attractive examples of virtually all the issue's key cards. Despite lower technical grades the collector who assembled the set took great care to select attractive cards within the grade focusing on clear images and clean surfaces. A technical breakdown of grades is 1% EX-MT; 12% EX; 36% VG-EX; 38% VG; 8% GOOD; 4% FAIR and 1% lesser with a few trimmed.
