A red-background Ty Cobb portrait is one of the most iconic cards in the T206 set. Despite its availability the red Cobb is still highly sought-after and "affordable" examples are rarely made available as single lots in the hobby. As we have learned about Rudy Strejc we"ve developed an understanding of his love of cards and his passion for collecting. Mr. Strejc was not particularly condition-conscious; he handled his cards and kept them his entire life. Despite the fact that many of the cards are collector-grade or less we feel that selling all of them in large group lots would be counterintuitive to the way Strejc collected; as such we"ve elected to break some of the keys into single lots and offer them individually as a way for collectors with smaller bankrolls to get their hands on cards that would otherwise be less affordable.This red Cobb trimmed at the top and bottom borders has been graded AUTHENTIC by SGC. With an Old Mill reverse the card is printed slightly off-register and has hints of an "Old Mill" wet sheet transfer on the front. Clearly an interesting card.
