Collector-grade group of E98 cards from the Rudy Strejc Collection. It is often said by E98 collectors that the commons are more difficult to obtain than the set"s many superstars and Hall of Famers. These two examples of Red Dooin (orange background graded POOR 10 by SGC) and Harry Davis (red background graded GOOD 30 by SGC) are certainly part of the set"s commons.In this case the Davis presents strongly with some wear and staining at the bottom border/corners and some wrinkling throughout. The Dooin has clearly seen better days sporting significant wrinkling and creasing throughout as well as a "spindle hole" consistent with a child hole-punching a card and tying it to others with a piece of string. This was a common practice among young collectors at the turn of the century and given that many of Rudy Strejc"s cards boast similar holes we suspect that"s how he stored many of them.From the Rudy Strejc Collection.
