Interesting 1954 letter from Hall of Fame umpire Bill McGowan to Joan Crosby of the public relations firm Art Flynn Associates. The letter concerns several watches that were given to Crosby by the firm and subsequently damaged during ballgames. McGowan wrote in hopes that the watches could be repaired or repaced. Additionally McGowan asks if perhaps the firm might help him land a spot on a television program. With a dark black signature applied in fountain pen the signature has been authenticated with a full LOA from James Spence Authentication. In addition to the letter included is a file copy of a response to an earlier letter from the PR firm. Bill McGowan signatures are difficult to find and full letters with such fascinating content are highly collectible. An excellent piece.
