Attractive postcard featuring Connie Mack's 1905 Philadelphia Athletics. The team which lost the World Series in five games to the Giants was still one of Mack's greatest posting a 92-56 record and featuring three future Hall of Fame pitchers in Eddie Plank (24-12 in 1905) Rube Waddell (27-10) and Chief Bender (18-11). While it is unusual not to see Mack's tall suited figure in the middle of the team photo the remaining three Hall of Famers are depicted in the image as are several other favorites of the era like Topsy Hartsel Lave Cross Ossie Schreckengost and Andy Coakley. The postcard itself has been graded AUTH by SGC possibly due to what appears to possibly be a repaired tear at the lower right corner. Still the tear or additional wear does not impede the image itself.
