Despite playing just four seasons in the majors "Jap" Barbeau played 13 seasons in the American Association and Pacific Coast league belting 1 463 lifetime hits. Pictured here with St. Louis where Barbeau spent two seasons as a part-time third baseman this card is stunning in its clarity and crispness. Graded NM/MT by SGC this card is the only one out of 162 T206 Barbeaus with any of nine back varieties to grade NM/MT. In fact no Barbeau has graded higher with PSA either the highest-graded Barbeau to come in at a PSA NM/MT 8.One of the very few T206s to grade this high this is a gorgeous example from what is likely the most popular prewar set.Population DataSGC Population: 84 total graded 1 at this level 0 higherPSA Population: 99 total graded 1 at this level 0 higher** PSA has graded an addition 123 Jap Barbeau T206s with "unknown back " with three grading at this level and none higher. As many are aware PSA only began classifying T206s by back variety and everything prior is today classified as "unknown back."
