Defenseman Barney Holden, one of professional hockey's earliest legends, is credited with scoring the first goal in the first game of the very first professional hockey league on December 9, 1904. Holden's historic goal came at the Duquesne Gardens in Pittsburgh as his Portage Lakes Hockey Club skated in the International Hockey League (IHL). This 1910 Sweet Caporal Hockey Postcard of Barney Holden, #3 in the set, exhibits light visible wear at the corners with clean and attractive front and back surfaces. Graded VG-EX 4 by PSA it remains one of only 12 graded examples across both PSA and SGC's population reports combined.

Please note: our printed catalog displays "RC" in the title indicating rookie card status. This is in-fact considered a second year card for Holden, consistent with his C55 issue.
