Pitcher Park Swartzel struggled to find continued pro baseball success, as his single major league year endured a 19-27 record with 7th-place Kansas City. Power hitters in particular found success against Park, so perhaps the problem wasn't the defense behind him, but rather his penchant for giving up hits beyond the defenders altogether.
The SGC AUTH grade states an evidence of trimming, perhaps at the bottom edge. The central image remains clean and impressive, even if Park's batting stance leaves something to be desired by modern standards. Scarcity says more about this card than grading itself, as the SGC population report shows this as its only encapsulated #450-1!
